THE SCIENTIFIC MIRACLES IN THE GLIRIOUS QUR’AN
ENTRY:
Dr Al Barshah (1990, p.62) states that:
“The verses and signs, which prove that the Qur’an is a true revelation from Allah are numerous and uncountable. The Qur’an deals briefly and precisely with different modern sciences: astronomy, geology, medicine…so as to give a trenchant proof for every human being in every epoch that the Qur’an is the word of Allah.”
While dealing with the scientific miracles in the Holy Qur’an, I will not discuss unstable scientific theories that change from time to time whenever a new developed and more authoritative theory appears. But I will deal only with the Qur’anic verses scrutinized in the light of modern stable knowledge.
“…In many instances theory changes: it is liable to be modified or replaced by another theory when scientific progress makes it easier to analyse facts and envisage a more viable explanation.[But]an observed fact checked by experimentation is not liable to modification it becomes easier to define its characteristics, but it remains the same.” (Bucaille: 1985, p.131)
Then Dr Bucaille (Ibid.) proceeds to give a scientific example about the rotation of the Earth, the Sun and the Moon:
“It has been established that the Earth revolves around the Sun and the Moon around the Earth and this fact will not be subject to revision: all that may be done in the future is to define the orbits more clearly”
It is to be noticed that the Holy Qur’an is not a book of science, but that of heavenly guidance sent from God to lead people to the straight path of light and faith.
{Soon will We show them Our Signs in the (further) regions (of the earth), and in their own souls, until it becomes manifest to them that this the Truth. Is it not enough that thy Lord doth witness all things.}
